Killing Stick

The old man walks up the olive hill, Iron bedrock washes out to sea, A cleft splits the iron hill, The valley blooms a pistachio tree, The old man breaks the killing stick, The point is ruddy and its heart is green. Breaker of branches rattle my senses, Tender of blossoms wreck my defenses, Sender of seeds blow, Shaker of leaves blow, Bender of boughs blow, blow, blow, Taker of trees blow through me.
