Keyhole of Light

Dark and weathered you feel confused
I knock on your heart but you won't let me through
If privacy is granted you won't see the light
I can still see a keyhole don't give up the fight
It pains me to see you without a window of hope
I can't handle the nails that drive your slate home
Lets restore your foundation and give it new life
Veneer will protect you I will find the best knight
The lock is against us please give me the key
I beg you I love you please listen to me.

I am late to find is gem but the fine pleasure in reading this poem is still the same. I know about begging to be allowed to help someone I loved. She was addicted to drugs and I was not allowed in to help. Love this plea and its depth and beauty. A fav..

This keyhole of light reminds me of a Greek myth - Two lovers that can only connect looking through a crack in the rock. Good stuff. Love, daver
