Key To the Nile
Death is just a stepping stone,
it is written in scriptures and told.
A momentary pause to our eternal souls,
so say the Egyptian hieroglyphs of old.
Elliptical circle atop a cross,
never once was it's meaning lost.
Found in cultures the world across.
Held high today by Egyptian Copts.
Called the Ankh or "Handled Cross",
portrays Venus and zest for life.
This gift dispensed by Gods and Goddess,
Eternal life, after worldly strife.
Most religions today, rank and file,
their own Ankh they display.
Called once, the Key To The Nile,
It also symbolizes "Peace" for today.
