Kelaeno

i scream “Huzzah!”
as lightning rips across the sky
holding my breath in anticipation
surely, thunder is to follow

innocents reek of trepidation
in her wrath, daylight is swallowed
masses run for cover
before they’re consumed in deluge

this is “my” place of refuge
finding solace in her rage
her temper soothes me
she is the beast within

i am weak and powerless
born of flesh and blood
she is reckless abandon
fate in a liquid dress

from the breast of the Harpie
suckle a thousand warriors
howling in unison as one voice
guided by the eye of her storm
