Keeping Hope

I see a light in the dark
Truly positive light
Among great despair
This is hope, it takes its form
Of a star in a broken world
My heart skips its rhythm
When the light flickers
I urge it to stay lit
It kisses my spirit
And I find myself lost for words
Was I ever wrong for losing it?
This beauty, this light
This wonderful spirit
That shone so brightly
In the perilous night

We all need those spirit lifters from time to time...I get those that appear when I am done sometimes and I feel blessed..Thanks for your review of my work..Sara
