the keeper of the lighthouse
that sits above a cliff
enjoys taking in innumerable magnificent sights
from a captivating height
there's far too many to count!
at night, the sweep of the searchlights
pierce the darkness
oftentimes he spends his afternoons
either woolgathering or watching the waves
splashing against the rocks
forming white horses
he basks in the soothing breeze watching
ships come in or set sail
the panoramic view
of the sapphire ocean is a wonder to behold!
in the gloaming, he watches the midday sun
go down as the scarlet sky sets ablaze
some evenings he watches a chattering of starlings
perform acrobatic magic in the air
how lucky to experience such dazzling sights!
