Keep Writing For You
I wish you would just keep writing for you
For writing is a mind refresh and renew
It’s not all about the fortune and fame
And definitely not about making a name
It’s release of the words that swirl through your head
And gives you something to do in your bed
You draw from experiences you’ve seen or you’ve known
And it’s good to share that so others can grow
Maybe it’s something so funny, you just have to share
Come show me, I’d love to laugh so hard I gulp air
Love is a beautiful thing to have known
So why not tell us, we want to be shown
So many things in this world to experience
Pretty cool sometimes to find it right here
So write out those satires, allegories or acrostics
Or pen us a song we’d love to sing to your lyrics
Make it inspirational to start a new day
Some poems have a way to refresh all, I’d say
Mystical worlds can jump from the page
Or a calm serene to last through the age
Maybe it doesn’t say much at all
Just a heartfelt feeling or a silly heehaw
If you can put feelings on paper to see
You’ve an ability without much company
You have a talent so don’t let it go
Put it out there for the world, come show
It’s also a platform to make people smile
And if just one does it makes it worthwhile
As poets we share, it’s just what we do
I’m so glad that this time I’m sharing with you
