Keep Them Real

I’m crawling back into my shell
Must hibernate for just a spell
My soul and body are not well
I need to flee from outer hell

A sabbatical of the soul…
In need of love to make me whole
My inner peace of mind they stole
Disturbed by every changing role

I’ll sit a while and nurse my pain
Assuage the hurt, comfort to gain
Alone the fight to keep me sane
Undam the tears, my cleansing rain

In the hush of sacred hour
How I feel my Savior’s power
The thorns His, and mine the flower
His love, His grace, a firm tower

Your words can hurt and they can heal
Imbued with heavenly appeal
Clothed with His love, the heart they steal
But, oh, the need to keep them real

Oh, the need to keep them REAL

I don't know, Richard....I didn't receive many posts on mine too. Perhaps that is an indication...I know you didn't mean to offend. We all feel deeply about our convictions. You do what you feel is right. :)

Thanks, I did not consider Catholics when I was moved to write it. My intention is certainly not to offend. I have received no negative comments but perhaps lack of comments may speak louder.

Glad this spoke to you, Richard...thank you for visiting. I went over your poem. Like the changes. Good luck! It sort of shames me that I wrote such a blazing piece when I should have written something of a spiritual nature! Well, you did that for us. Great job!

Yes, Charmaine...yes. I often tell my daughter, "Tell me the truth. Even if it hurts, I will bare it, but a falsehood I can't abide by." I'm so afriad of people who lie because you never know where you stand with them. Honesty...has gotten me in trouble, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Thanks for your lovely post, my dear! Hugs!
