Keep My Heart Awake

My heart
In a slumber so deep
Almost as if poison
Has put me to sleep 
But you’re the one
Just that one special person

Your smile
Makes me smile
Your laugh 
Like the jingling of bells 
Your words are so soft and kind 
It makes my heart rewind
Puts thoughts in my mind
Maybe it’s time
To give love another chance
To let my heart dance 
In the joy you make me feel

That feeling deep in my heart
Like a shiver down my spine
But the good kind
The kind that makes me want to stay with you forever
Together
You’ll keep my heart alive
Aware of the love I have

So please
The fact that I’m awake
Don’t make it a mistake 
The heartbreak
Will just be too much 
My heart will just fall asleep forever
Never again to be awake
