Kavanaughty

Kavanaugh grew up in a cave
Never learned how a judge should behave
This caveman likes beer
And ladies must fear
Becoming this drunkard’s sex slave

Despite his bad manners revealed
Kavanaugh might not be repealed
He’s t-rump’s first choice
To kill Roe v Wade’s voice
And take women’s rights far afield

Author’s Note: This Supreme Court nominee pleases the fundamentalist Christians. If he is confirmed, the very wealthy will also be cheering since he is a supporter of the super-rich, who have no problem taking their private jets to Canada if someone in their family or mistress needs an abortion. The concentration of wealth and the elimination of social programs is what this is really about.

Hello there, how are you doing ? I like reading your limericks. I liked Matt Damon's Kavanaughty skit on SNL. But, he was never guilty of it. Now his girls have to live with it. Have you ever heard of M K altra mind control ? She is/ was involved with it and her students. Her father had her in it. Her grandfather was one of the top dogs in doing it. Have you ever seen Raising Cane 1992 movie with John Lithgow. :)

OK another truthful review, and the rhyming even gave it a huge lift. I just moved from Canada 2 years ago to settle down next to one of my sons in San Francisco, and i am adapting to this change. I always use to come and visit. I write about my past, as me and my family have lived through a war of 16 years. And those years were hell and unstable. Here we come again as u wrote about politics, i am so so sad for what is happening. Terry

Terry, I'm glad you are near to your family. We don't have to take any of the arguments of this war to heart. We can work to protect the rights we have come to expect for all. In the grand scheme of things we have an obligation to protect the environment and to have empathy for others. I am going to retire in the next three years of so if my plans work out and will keep talking about what I think is important.

And is this bloke going to sit in judgement of other people, but crikey you'd think that someone with a clean sheet would be available - but then again, I guess others in power would fear that - thanks Duke - Lindsay

I agree completely. If the man had a shred of decency, he would have withdrawn his nomination in order to protect the reputation of the court. However, he and his greedy friends can't wait to get their hands on more wealth. I am talking about a few hundred people who represent the top stratum of American wealth. We are more like an oligarchy than is commonly perceived here.

Duke, it was very unsettling to watch Kavanaugh respond to the allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford. His demeanor at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing was alarming and I was surprised when Senators Flake and Collins decided to support his nomination. You work very well in the limerick form and tackled a very controversial issue with style and flare. Hugs, Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn. We have hit a new low. There were much better choices available, but the agenda is to pander to the fundamentalist Christians who vote strictly on the abortion issue. In the meantime, we now have a court that will protect the very wealthy at the expense of the middle and low income classes. I think it is akin to a new dark age.

Thanks Nette. If he does get confirmed, perhaps Roberts will moderate, though I doubt it. This is really bad news for normal people. It’s still not voted on, but I don’t think the nomination will fail—we can only hope and call our senators.

Like attracts like Duke. You have presented this current affair with such tact. Bravo! I agree 100 percent. This is a fave for me. : )

Connie, you are very kind. It’s clear to some of us what this is about. A shame that so many people are being misled, and their long term interests are being sacrificed to enrich a small percentage of our population. It’s even worse since there are global issues and populations involved. I love your poetry!!

At least we have a chance to throw some of the worst ones out in the house, and slow down the backwards progress.

At least we can share it with a significant other of long-standing. I have met some pretty miserable divorced people.

Hello Duke, I really enjoyed your Limerick here on "Kavanaughty." Just remember who nominated him, none other than the "Trumpster" whose moral code, and personal and professional civility are non-existent. Together these two would make a pitiful dynamic duo for sure!! Beware all ladies!! Excellent Work, and Funny!! Best Wishes, Gary

Many Thanks Duke!! Your author's note describes the essential back-story perfectly. (I've written a number of political verses over 2017-18 about Mr. Trump and his outrageous behavior and actions.) I agree totally with what you say. The Kavanaugh nomination is another sad aspect of the ongoing Trumpian saga: Wealth, Power, Deception, and playing a masterful flim-flam game to dupe the public and play to the darker aspects of human gullibility and a more hateful-side of mankind. Best, Gary

Thanks Gary. They are remarkably similar. It could be bad for all of us over time although great for the super rich for the short haul.
