Kali
Within her hands the universe she holds,
both creation and destruction lie within her globe
and upon her whim are life and death reliant. The divine creator
who now lays herself down as the protector of all of humankind.
Old, young, dark or light, she encompasses them all.
Vampires appeared to threaten mankind and the natural order of the world.
She sucked the very blood of each parasite casting them on the universal fire.
When the black plague ran rampant, she ran with it. Willowing out the sick
and infirm to equalize the population that on the earth relied.
Her loving and nurturing nature lie in contrast with her callous call to duty.
Armed with sword and noose, she destroys the thicket to allow new growth
She sanctions the spoilers of war who plunder the innocent before their time.
Measuring out life and death in solemn numbers, she weeps yet smiles.
With her sword of divine knowledge, she cuts off the head of human ego
allowing the development of Nirvana that the human soul is so in search of.
She holds the forces of time in her hand spinning images we see linearly
And grants death’s liberation to the soul of all mankind.
She is the poet’s language and carries fearlessness to the poet’s heart.
She is the twinkle of mischief in the poet’s soul, the untamed pen in her hand.
When necessary she is the embodiment of ferocious wrath and disruption.
Always the balancer of nature in the universe.
But always she is Kali. Always she is the honorable holder of life and death.
