Justify the Pain
It’s not easy being here anymore
We know love’s the answer and fates the cure
We’ve both been through more
Than our hearts should endure
Our minds both fight the same endless war
We’re both finding ways to justify the pain
And any day now we’ll put an end to this rain
The promises we make are only footsteps away
But for now we’re here trying to justify the pain
We’ve both fallen and can’t get back up
With any luck hope can be our crutch
Instead of being stuck
In this same old rut
Maybe someday we’ll admit we’ve had enough
We’re both finding ways to justify the pain
And any day now we’ll put an end to this rain
The promises we make are only footsteps away
But for now we’re here trying to justify the pain
I won’t ever say two wrongs make a right
But we’ve both been guided by a light
Through all the sleepless nights
Through all the pain and strife
Somehow we still justify the pain
We’re both finding ways to justify the pain
And any day now we’ll put an end to this rain

But for now we’re here trying to justify the pain
It’s a shame we stay and look for ways
To justify the pain
