Just To Dream

Forever and a day
I will be here
longing, impatiently,
for your touch.
For now,
I only have an image
in my mind
of how it would be;
me holding you, you holding me.
The embrace; so tight
as if we’re in each others skin.
Yet, so warm,
like the intensifying heat on a summer’s day.
And then, we kiss,
each anticipated peck
is like satin on the skin
and though moist,
it leaves my mouth dry.
And the caress,
as I press my hand gently
against the small of your back,
brings forth life;
a quiver, a moan.
Your movement,
then inviting,
welcomes me,
impatiently,
but I cease
and take the time
to look into your eyes
as I try to say,
without words,
how I feel.
And time passes,
unfortunately,
into tomorrow
when the dream ends.
But because of time,
I relive this dream,
daily,
with the anticipation
of the next tomorrow
just to dream
again.
