Just Looking Within This Storm

I’m standing outside of my house
looking up at the storm overhead
thoughts falling like raindrops

an indefinite amount of memories
paths and directions
what if’s and possibilities
overlapping this internal suburban scene

The raindrops encapsulate galaxies
exploding from deep within
like gemstones full of fire
crowned in a different array of color

The black heavens overhead
rumbles and cries in thunderous rage
giving voice to the turmoil
to the conflicts and contradictions which reside

yet I remain calm and still trying to look past it all

I live in this block of empty houses
yet each one has it’s own personality
full of items and sensibilities of it’s own
with history and sentiment and story

a ghost town with only one house with life within
Mine

What’s outside that can host what’s within
how I can translate this world of mine
to remain stable while clashing again and again
like endless waves of reality meeting dream

This version of myself won’t last forever
the metamorphosis has already begun
and I’m drenched in thoughts and emotions
just looking within

awaiting the lightening to hit me...
