Just Listening

Just Listening

Just Listening to a soothing rain,
So different from its curling storms
Of yesterdays, and
Listening to the gentle piano on the radio.
Reminding me so of our times long ago.
Those wondrous times. lying by “our” lake,
Lying on soft blankets in the sunshine,
Wasting a bright and perfect day,
Breathing spring’s perfumes and
Just listening – listening.

No more roars, only your whispers
Of hopes and plans of dreamy love,
Before the falling “out of,”’
Those sweet, but shattered memories into
Today’s broken hearts.

Just Listening.

sometimes the memories are happy, sometimes sad, but they all touch us in ways....i like the way you penned this one, it's beautiful even in its sadness... hugs :)

A beautiful poem of memories and the sadness that comes along with those memories at times. Really nicely done my friend.
