Just Let It Be 2

Had I given vent to my emotions and what I was really feeling inside, the results would have been rather predictable. So predictable in fact that I purposely chose to create a different outcome. I'm no more saintly than my friend who made a prejudicial assumption of me. However, that brief conversation with her reminded me of a prayer attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi. It's the part about 'understanding' others being more important than being 'understood' by others. It could be said that 'I didn't have the balls' or the courage to correct her or to tell her what I really thought about her comment, but in reality it was not the lack of balls. Sometimes, it's best to keep your balls and simply 'let it be', which is what I did. I could have 'taken her to task' and schooled her about matters of politics she was rather naive about, but I felt that she was of a mindset that was not opened to change. She was a dear and Godly lady who has since passed on, never realizing how close she was to being put in her place. Politics must always take a back seat to people. I chose to take the personal offense, and I rather think that it was better that way. 07122018 About EG
