Just Go Home

Just Go Home

I can hear you callin' me in the dead of the night
Boy, the way you're treatin' me, you know it just ain't right
You call me up and tell me things with you are not okay
Well, I'm tired of the games you play
I'm tired of the things you say...

(chorus)
Why don't you just go home
And leave me alone
Why don't you just go home
I'm better off--better off alone
I'm takin' back that part of me you crucified
An' I'm not gonna' be here anymore...
for you to compromise....
Just go home

I could always see through you and the lies you told
My heart ain't got swingin' doors and this gettin' old
I cain't help you find your reason for another day
Boy I'm tired of games you play
I'm tired of the things you say

(bridge)
Too much heartache
Too much pain
Boy, what you do to me
Is drivin' me insane...
...So why don't you

(chorus)
Just go home
And leave me alone
Why don't you just go home
I'm better off--better off alone
I'm takin' back that part of me you crucified
And I'm not gonna be here anymore
For you to compromise....
Go home
Just go home
Boy leave me alone...
Go home....(ad lib)

Hey, had you put this in one of the song lyric contests? I am surprised if you did and did not place because I think this would make a really great song! Maybe Mark could come up with a tune for it!!

Excellent lyrics, Deborah. Full marks for your endeavour. The bridge blends smoothly with the end refrain. I can tell you're not new to song writing. Well done! Hugs // paul

These are great lyrics, Deb... sounds like an acoustic country song. I can almost hear the strum of a lone guitar. Sending a hug and thanks for your visit (I'm sure that 'boyfriend' deserved your gift!)

Very cool song, Deborah. I would love to hear this oldie but goodie song. The lyrics have bite and a dash of diss. A very clever, anti-love song. Love this poem. It gets a 7 and a fave, double combo. Love and peace to you always.
