Just Fancy Then
(Dedication: For my relatives at Christmas.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once a year tends this party mood:
Just fancy then the lavish food;
Saturday spice and all things nice,
Christmas so dear with food and cheer;
Family prize and sweet surprise,
Joy feels brisk steer right now and here;
Precious the day to gather round,
Party of smiles in annual fare;
To share fond ways on happy grounds,
Delights worthwhile in love we share;
See how quickly the day has flown;
Hearts know briefly the kinship grown.
Here's to a great year with blessings grand,
Hopes and dreams swirl with heart's desires;
Live with wise cheer both kin and friend,
Breeze through this world as love inspires.
All in due time a blaze of change,
In range of chimes the end looms strange!
