Just Chillin' - Not Quite Hiku

Gnarled fingers shook off the snow
Waking the frosted sparrows
An old grandmother Elm sighed.

A feral cat
Creeps along a city street
No pity kitty

A cold rain
Slows the slugs
Fast escape

A wet hawk shivers
As squirrels hide in their tails
Nature’s quandary

The sun sits
Feet up, eyes closed
Called in “cloudy” today

My coffee is cold
An oily film covers it
No ducks involved

Why does this remind me of Holden Caulfield? ('Catcher in the Rye').

WOW, these are fantastic, insightful and contain amazing imagery filled glimpses into the vagaries of the Fall and Winter courtship.

Must agree with John, these are a mystically mysterious unveiling of winter's bride.
