Just Chillin' - Not Quite Hiku

Gnarled fingers shook off the snow Waking the frosted sparrows An old grandmother Elm sighed. A feral cat Creeps along a city street No pity kitty A cold rain Slows the slugs Fast escape A wet hawk shivers As squirrels hide in their tails Nature’s quandary The sun sits Feet up, eyes closed Called in “cloudy” today My coffee is cold An oily film covers it No ducks involved
