Just Another Heartbreak

You told me you loved me
And want me as your wife
You pursued me hard
With promises of a new life

But like the others before
It was just another lie
I’m once again broken hearted
All I can do is cry

We had been good friends for years
That’s why I trusted you
Now I’m just feeling lost
I don’t know what to do

The pain is just too much
I can’t eat or sleep
I’m just a mess again
Because I fell too deep

Why do I punish my heart like this
This cycle needs to end
I can’t keep dealing with heartbreak
I need to try to mend

Very emotive and expressive work. I hope it is not based on recent heartbreak but on past experience or on another's heartbreak that they were telling you about. Enjoyed reading ..Welcome to soup. Sara

Lorna, there is always hope for real love to be a part of your life. My sympathetic feelings evoke my empathetic feelings for you. I wish for you the man of your dreams to be a man of integrity who will see you for the truly wonderful person I perceive you to be. I see in your writing a person who cares so deeply for others that she becomes easily hurt because of the apparent uncaring nature of those whom you look to for love. If that man could grasp his great fortune in feeling your love!!
