Just Another Day
Another day
Again no lover to warm my heart
Another night
I know I shall sit alone in darkness
Another walk in le jardin sans amor
Me, my life has ended, she left me heartless
All around young lovers stroll, hand in hand
As I admire old men playing chess
Children fly their kites
They run and sing, spring in their steps
Cotton candy vendors shout their wares
The cafes are full, with life and love
I wish I could believe
Wish I could love again
Me, I am almost old
The songs play over and over in my head
Lovers all around, as I drink my wine
Another day
Without the profoundness of love
Glass to lips, I drink to a life that was not to be
The waiter with eyes, asks another glass?
Why not I say?
It’s the anniversary
Of just another day
