Just Accept Him
In the grief that I’ve known
Amid the failure and the sorrow
In spite of depression and despair
Even when my heart feels so alone
There is love – sent from above
When everywhere I turn
There is a darkness that lurks
Bringing doubt, disillusion, distrust
Feelings of anxiety and so much stress
There is love – sent down from above
In the silence of a hopeless moment
When all is lost and dawn is haunted
When I can’t let go of all that I’ve lost
And every promise brings disappointment
There is love – sent down from up above
When my heart beats without a dream
And my soul seems so fearful and weak
Defeat creates an echo through my prayers
The glory that was - just isn’t there
There is love – sent from above
In the passing of one who is loved
When horrors seem like they’ll never stop
Despondent from all the pain that has been
Feelings in black from the shadows of shame
There is love – sent down from above
When all has been said and all has been done
Still there are sorrows that always come
To obscure the kindness and reflect the pain
Remind of regret that has been so draining
There is love – sent to us from above
In the shade of broken promises
Amid the storms that bring fear
There comes a gentle hope and a tear
Breathing life into the one who knows
God is reaching down with His gift
The love of a Savior who is the answer
The peace – the joy and faith
The sweetest grace – the satisfaction
Of a prayer that was spoken
From a heart who knows that His love
Is the best gift ever thought of!
