Just a Moment
Their night is going well, tonight,
They’ve gone out for a steak
He knows he has to bide his time,
A move on her to make.
The conversation’s easy,
Though he thinks that she’s forgot,
A few things from their last date,
But he thinks, well maybe not.
He looks into her pretty eyes,
She knows they make him smile,
He wonders why for tonight’s date,
Her hair’s a different style.
He asks how she would like her steak,
She says she’ll have it rare,
He’s puzzled because last time,
She did not like the blood there.
He asks her how her day has been,
She says work was ok,
And now he’s feeling really odd,
Thought she was off today.
They end their meal, he pays the bill,
She tries to pay her share,
He says, remember you paid last time,
That would not be fair.
They go outside, he takes her hand,
They have a little walk,
He thinks there’s something not quite right,
But still enjoys their talk.
Then suddenly it clicks in place,
His words now getting loud,
He takes her to a quiet place,
Away from all the crowd.
He tells her that she’s really nice,
He shouts as it sinks in,
“You're not my girlfriend, just a moment,
Identical twin!”
