Jump Rope Hope

Do you ever have that divine dream of jumping rope again? And sometimes you fell, running to Mommy, to make it well with a bandaid and her oh so, warm hugging! How about roller skating on the pavement? That delicious vibration that invaded your body? Where did these fun days all go? You look in the vanity mirror. Good grief, a head covered in pretty snow! And then a voice shouts: "Grandma, can you bring my jump rope here, that would be so very nice!" And you are brought back to reality. Remembering, that God's gift of having a grandchild, Beats the days of you being a child times ten! You go outside to give him his beloved rope. Your grandson's brown eyes sparkle and fill your day with eternal warmth and hope. *For Eddie, my joy and wonderful grandson.*          Love, Nana             April 20, 2020               3pm PST

What a wonderful poem - your love for Eddie shines across the pond all the way to Johannesburg. You know the Greeks have a saying, that your grandchild is twice your child, there is no greater joy, may you always know joy,my dear friend. Jennifer.

This is a treasure, Panagiota! A journey back into childhood memories! You are so right about the joy of grandchildren who lift us back into our own childhood. Did you ever jump double dutch - always a favorite of mine. Hugs and blessings.

Ah, my Sam! I am almost certain I never did double Dutch. It was just plain jump rope, if memory serves-)). I can imagine you being a champion at it though! I loved roller skating and indoor figure skating at the Chicago Arena every Sunday. We even took a cab home from there which was fun. I was better on ice than on roller skates. Loved bikes, too. Grandson was a Little League All Star. Has moved onto to traveling baseball and basketball. Thank you for the gift of your comment. Panagiotaxx
