Brilliant descriptive entry Sara 👏 I love the way the method of preparation itself is an example of an oxymoron! "freeze burn" genius 😁 Thank you for entering the contest. 🌸

Andrea, somehow we can miss one along the way and then sometimes we have to search and search to find one we haven't commented upon. I am glad you found it and commented though. Your visits are uplifting. 👍⭐. Sara K.

I guess that cocktail sauce is to freeze-burnt shrimp as catsup and mustard are to a limp frankfurter, eh? lol. ~ Gershon

I guess it must be, Gershon. Sometimes it takes some special sauce to help those Franks. Thank you for the special humorous review. Made my day. 👍⭐. Sara K.

Nette, your visit is uplifting for me then also, it is enlightening to learn about your shellfish allergy. I have heard of who do have that allergy. My body can't handle the sodium in shellfish very well, so I only eat it occasionally and in a very small amount. I hope that researchers soon will find a way to keep people from having allergic reactions, but right now it is a dangerous situation to be in when it happens. Thank you for sharing. 👍⭐. Sara K.

Dear Sara, this made me smile. We’ve all been there: lured in by the grand promise of a "jumbo" treat, only to find the reality is a bit freeze-burned and questionable! But the true stroke of genius here is the ultimate savior of so many quick meals, the dunk into cocktail sauce. It captures that funny, unpretentious way we navigate life's small disappointments with humor and a lot of horseradish. A delightfully light, witty, and grounded poem, Sara! Blessings, Daniel

I appreciate your high praise and understanding, Daniel. Yes, sometimes we can laugh about it and sometimes we get sick for days and that is nothing to laugh about. Thanks for the blessings. Your visit was uplifting. 👍⭐. Sara K.

Your poem captures the ironic humor of culinary experiences, Sara. I like how you play with words to describe the jumbo shrimp and its contradictions. The ending makes me smile with its unexpected twist. Keep playing with language in creative ways!

A delightfully sharp little food poem, with its clipped lines and dry progression perfectly matching the increasingly dubious shrimp experience. The final “yum!” lands as wonderfully ironic comic punctuation.
