Julie Rogers
Julie was born with an abnormal right foot,
And this congenital disorder just meant that,
She decided on a prosthetic at the age of 5,
A 3S80 Ottobock prosthetic to give speed.
She came into the world in the year of 1998,
On November the 2nd, and she represented,
Great Britain in the 2012 Paralympic Games,
In sitting volleyball as a young team member.
But in the run-up to Rio Julie switched sports,
Got into sprinting which saw her participate in,
The 2015 IWAS Worlds in Stadskannal city,
Which is in Holland: she won bronze in 100m.
Prosthetist Jamie Gillespie says “Julie is a very
ambitious and focused young woman who has
that ability to overcome the fear of trying, [to see],
something new. She’s…confident but modest.”
