Judgment Day

What is life! Not that I really care, nor understand the motives that surround me. What is death? An end to despair then a carousel to remind me there is no escape. Oh! What a cruel fate, one’s life shown continuously upon the great wall, the mind reflects before the godly panel debriefs it……. © Harry J Horsman 1990

I'm sure most of us have moments in our life that we would rather have erased for all time. But t'ain't gonna happen. Hence the old saying: "We are the master of the words we have not said and the slaves of those we have already spoken." In other words, Make sure mind is in gear before putting mouth into motion. I think that goes for our actions as well. Think before you speak or act. Great job here my friend. God Bless, JB

So you believe that too,Harry, that we will view all our miserable lives on some kind of wall or something. But after we "feel" the misery we may have caused others, those who are worthy shall move on to their just rewards.I envision myself somewhere in the middle of everyone! I hope not on the bottom pile!! Congrats on your win here with this interesting little gem.

The carousel, the wheel, the continuing repetition of earthly life is disturbing, but many religions believe in it. I'm for the godly panel debriefing. Have I read you right, Harry? Great write. Love, daver

I like the open endedness to this poem, Harry. It is as tho it could ponder on its own forever...the carousel image is a very strong one. Gwendolen

Like the wording. Don't know what life is, but will hang on as long as I can. I rather like it. Death lasts too too long.
