Judge and Jury

You've now had your day in court, I watched from the back as you took the stand, The questions came at you straight away, But you were high, not ready to land. The jury has been more than patient, You were left open to be stripped bare. We came to witness your last hearing, I wonder if you were ever truly prepared. There were no excuses for you, We had been waiting far too long for this, We knew you would never come down to reality, And leave your drug-fuelled bliss. Your shadow had continuously let you fall, Found too often blue and naked. Me more than anyone else left questioning, Would you pull through and make it? But the time has eventually come, And now we'll never get the answers, The dark shadow has finally taken you. Like a slow and painful cancer. So whilst the ground beneath you gave way, You thought you could run and hide, Now you won't have to plea or beg, It has now taken the life out of your eyes.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
