Joy Comes From God

Joy comes from God; He is forever, faithful and true.
When we say "I trust You", joy returns to Him.

We plan ahead for our kids like we should -
good food, warm clothes, education.
We pray and introduce them to Jesus
for they are precious gifts from God.
But in the end, joy is all about trust -
God's strength comes by their choice.

Joy comes for us when we see them succeed
in school, in work, in marriage, in church.
Through ups and downs, even when they disobey,
we encourage trust through prayer for forgiveness.
Joy comes as God, as our Father intercedes
affirming their wise choice of Jesus as the Truth.

That is what brings real joy to this parent,
Knowing this: when they put their faith in Him,
the damage predators dare to dish out
is overcome as Jesus cares for our kids and us.
Showing folks we know, He is in control;
His strength is sufficient for what comes our way.

Joy comes from God; He is forever, faithful and true
When we say "I trust You", joy returns to Him.
