Journeys of My Mind

Journeys Of My Mind

Running through the fields of fantasy
Hiding in the shadows from what's real
Reaching out to touch my imagination
I dwell within the journeys of my mind

"Make believe" blossoms all around me
"Let's pretend" the kingdom where I dwell
"What if" presents a pensive question
"Could have been" returns to take a bow

Time is just a word with no importance
My thoughts arrive absent form or rhyme
Freedom is the key to their creation
Unfettered by realities restraints

I pluck the visions that I want to capture
Like the strings of a mellow mandolin
Reveling in the song I have created
I dwell within the journeys of my mind
