Journey: Tanka Sequence

remembered lines
of poetry from youth
just pretty poems
the adjectives and  adverbs
hypnotizing my heart

the poetic spell
almost consuming my life
from houseman to frost
and back to shakespeare
and dying inside for truth

so simple and silent
devoid of actual words
so memorable
useless dreams of prized stuff
carried away by wind and stars

Soon I was looking
at real stars and mountain crests
without prettys rosy fins
looking really looking
without judgement try to be
