Journal, Junk, Jagged Words Poetry Contest, Sponsor - Constance La France. Date: 10/22/2023. Written in Yalto form: 3,4,2,4,5,3,2,3,2,3,3,5,6,1,5 syllables

she's being read notes she wrote down in her tattered journal to wake moribund memories of old; beset with late-stage dementia, her husband never leaves her side; the end is nigh, yet his voice... her silken comfort.

Such a very emotional poem, Edward. My husband had just started getting dementia before he passed. I am grateful he did't get that far. Congratulations on your win in Constance's contest. Many blessings my friend. How is that new baby?

Oh my, this is such an emotive and heartfelt take for the contest, Edward.. You've come up with a very profound idea and have delivered your thoughts in a soul stirring way.. The situation of dementia, so delicately illustrated.. And that ending especially, love that "yet his voice.. her silken comfort" A FAV definitely..
