Joseph, Moses and Little Bo-Peep

To care for a sheep’s not an executive task
for such a position few men ask

It lacks any prestige and pays so little
               shepherds outearned by subway fiddlers

Yet Joseph’s brothers all tended sheep
as did the celebrated Little Bo-Peep

And God chose Moses to lead the Israelites
When Moses rescued a lamb low on electrolytes

Great leaders have made their mark tending sheep
Their incomes and hours who would want to keep

The meek shall inherent the earth. So misunderstood. It means selfless, loving and respecting of others. Not me first. It means serving, realizing that serving others is a service to selves, all one in the Kingdom(body) of God. It means turn the other cheek...but not to become a battered pinata. Good one, Gershon. Blessings.
