Jodie Grinham

Jodie is a law student born in Telford,
Living in Tilford, so she happily attends,
Lillishall Nat. Sports & Conference Centre,
And was born on the 26th July in 1993.

When her dad became ill, needed lifted,
He followed his parents into archery,
So she watched him shoot and score,
Which made her want to also join in.

Jodie was born without any fingers,
And only half a thumb on her left hand,
Her left shoulder has some problems,
And likewise her elbow, it has issues.

So she shoots with a compound arrow,
With one that’s specially adapted,
And bets other competitors she can win,
‘Cos she’s bubbly and enthusiastic.

Her biggest achievement to talk today,
Happened at Nove Mesto, Czechoslovak,
At the Para Worlds in the year of 2015,
Where she won mixed team bronze.

Rio will be her first Paralympic Games,
And it’s her goal, ambition and dream,
To become both the World Champion,
And the great Paralympic gold medalist.
