Jew #1

Tender now the night awakes the scent of jasmines strong
Tender now the heart does ache, and all its fibers long
To see the herons white across a blue translucent sky
And hear the willows whisper like a string orchestra sigh
I want tomorrow to be my yesterday again, I want time
To return our beginning, for I cannot go there evermore
Where you stood under bough golden as the bright lime
And said "I love you" in tender tones my soul did adore
O tender dreams are broken, and tender evening gone
Tender thoughts unspoken fled like dew upon the lawn
Gone the hope, gone the joy of evening crowds, all gone
But the wretched stain, indelible with pain, lives on
For every jasmine, every rain, and every set of crimson sun
Brings back the memory again, and again, the school boy
With shards of heart forever stained, leashed and cannot run
Searching for his penny, his sheep, and the prodigal of joy.

Your verses are wonderful, David, this poem is really moving, touches the reality image of a young man ready to conquer life. A leader in most parts, in search of happiness and its reality to nature! Enjoyed your poem...LeeAnn

I do not "get" things easily. It seems to me that you are pining for a lost (passed away?) love, and yet it could all be a metaphor for something else! Let me know, will ya? And I will definitely try to read all the poems in this wonderful series eventually! Luv, Andrea
