Jesus Then

Were we Jesus then?
Jesus, were we. . . .
The emphatic embrace
of our sadomasochistic quality,
a hedonistic humanity.
Please! Please,
please. . .
I beg for equality.

For there is no sin
between us,
when we've been
forgiven.

Forgive me then. . .
forgive me
please. . .
dear Jesus.
