Jesus take the wheel
Emails, phone calls appointments it’s nonstop, taking time off works, paperwork galore, social worker meetups, just once I’d like to sit alone, with nothing to do, but take in the sights that our Savior has given me…
None of thus did I ask for, it comes with having a special needs adult..not to mention work demands, emails phone calls, hearing unwanted banter from my co workers.. time to head home, rush traffic bumper to bumper awaits my sight..
I ask Jesus to please take the wheel, as I turn off thus highway to Wolfe Park, maybe some nature scenery will cheer me up, as I turn off the engine, I’m greeted with silence, only the birds singing me a song. I exit my car, walking slowly to the fishing dock, where other fathers are standing, fishing line in the water, admiring the scenery, maybe they too are seeking refuge.
I’m greeted with a smile, thus old dock has a way of bringing you in, to forget about life’s stressors for awhile..suddenly his fishing pole bends, he’s got a bite, a large moth bass has taken its bait, he reels it in, to his delight it’s larger than he thought.
We high five each other, fishing has a way of bringing people together, I congratulate him. Suddenly my stress is gone, thank you Jesus for steering me here, you took the wheel because only you knew what I needed. I turn to leave as I say goodbye to my new friend, I cant wait to share the story with my daughter, she will enjoy hearing this, GOD thank you for thus time, please be with me as I continue to be what you put me on thus earth to be, a father to my daughter, as I try my very best to be her Father, and guide her as her legal guardian, and a father to our son Josh, along with my wife..
