Jesus Paid the Price
Born to suffer and to die,
on Calvary for you and I.
Jesus left the glory of Heaven-
knowing his destiny,
was the lonely hill of Golgotha,
there to die in agony.
Even in death he remembered,
the thief hanging on a tree,
when he spoke with love and authority
and promised him eternity.
Not for good works accomplished,
for the thief had few to embrace,
his salvation was unmerited-
freely bestowed through God’s grace-
because Jesus paid the price.
