Jeans Or Leggings

Out for a walk to get some air
Some folks dress up but most don’t care.
The jeans or leggings people wear 
Are hardly worth a mention.

Fancy clothes out here are rare,
Deserve a glance but not a stare
For even those who do prepare
Don’t get that much attention.

I don’t think that I’m alone 
In stating lately I am prone
To dress in ways I’d not condone
When following convention.

Maurice Rigoler February 23, 2022 at 8:09 PM When I was in my teens I loved buying new clothes –sweaters, slacks, loafers, fancy dress shirts, cuff links, etc. I now prefer throw-aways (clothing made in foreign countries). And now with Covid I spend quite a few days working on my poems in pajamas! Love it! / Maurice

I see you listed it as rhyme but what style? I'd like to try this one day. It must have been a challenge. Trevor Ilene Bauer February 19, 2022 at 12:59 PM hey trevor! i don't know if there's a name for this - i just like to fiddle around with rhyme schemes and this one was fun to work with. the first 3 lines of each stanza rhyme and the last line of all the stanzas rhyme with each other. try it!

I dress up to go to the doctor or the dentist. I enjoyed your poem that is filled with a large dose of reality. Blessings xxoo
