Jealous of the Sun

Should I be jealous of the sun Forever it will know the sky Its passion in a fiery rage Is never slighted to my eye To see the world at every stage Must surely be of valued fare To warm the days of creatures all With intercontinental flair With countless visions set to oil In paintings that the world has known It counters with its dusk and dawn Creating paintings of its own But then I think it still must cope With clouds and rain to foil its show So such is life we all must bear Should I be jealous, I say no

"It counters with its dusk and dawn Creating paintings of its own" Sun is a first rate artist creating beautiful paintings of dawn and dusk and is so powerful enough to dip the world in darkness and illumine it with light. But we needn't grow jealous of it as it too has to wage many battles against adversity like us ! Beautiful poem dear Mike.

You've come to the right conclusion, Mike. It's the sun who is jealous of us, for although he warms us, he cannot do it with a touch or a breath. Wonderful verses, as always.
