Jasmines Kiss

Lotus lips of lilac shade planting pink fragrant kisses on my face Kisses from auntie Jasmine in action today Her love lives beyond the grave Kisses from Jasmine in heaven yet here in spirit Lime is her laughing kinfolk can you hear it? She was a survivor of many things Cancer abuse heart ache broken dreams Now she’s earned her angel wings She watches us close with teal time winding What she was too was clairvoyant yet meek Not at all a fuchsia fool nor of violet vanity She told me once of a visitor in green Who soothed her soul from beyond all dreams Her kiss is a wish that I live life well Take care of her plants be sure to tell Her kids to dance to smell the smells Make dreams true not just wish at a white well Her kiss in the wind is delivered love We can wrap in like a green glove We can find still her yellow mellow ways When the warmest wind blows across brown face.

Thanks Evelyn. She is my muse. Covid killed her just before there was a shot available. :0(

Loving the alliteration in this one, this is a poem that flows so well.. the refrain gives it more depth and i really like the imagery you have created here.. I wonder who the visitor in green was?

My aunt since childhood saw spirits. She also had an experience where she woke from heart surgery and could see unique colors around people that matched their soul. She recalled near death seeing a line of unknown ancestors who sent her back to life as it was not her time. Maybe it was an ancestor!

Your aunt Jasmine, to me sounds as fragrant as a Jasmine flower. On angel wings she soared high into heaven, freed from all worldly tribulations. From heaven, she sends down blessings and kisses. A beautiful tribute.

a powerfully poignant poem, Karen. "Now she's earned her angel wings" brought a twinge of sadness to my heart. The last paragraph, however, tells lovingly the type of kiss...perfect. Enjoy your day, Sara
