Notes About The Poem

JANUARY'S BLANK PAGE

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the old year exhales~ a scrap of confetti clings to the bottom of my shoe. midnight laughs, half-drunk, while my resolutions dissolve like sugar in champagne. somewhere, a clock resets its tired hands. somewhere, a last firework forgets it was ever lit. I linger on the verge of a day not yet formed, my pencil poised over untouched parchment.
The essence of your poem dances between joy and sorrow, a delicate balance of emotions intertwined. It embraces the sorrow that often accompanies the fading of dreams, the fleeting essence of our pursuits, and the ever-turning wheel of time. Yet, beneath the surface, a flicker of hope dances, whispering of the promise and possibilities that the new year may unfold for you and yours dear Sara.
