Overly Particular Judges Contest
I implore you a race to the top floor
where every other candidate has won.
The stairways and elevator jammed
with all the top placers, second sucks
and third place has passed out on the bottom floor.
(I jest, of course, having judged. My gavel plunged
as deep into the heart as any other. And yet I’ve loved
each read, deeply sipped the wordy tea.)
