Hello everyone! So I am officially home from my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and my break here on poetrysoup is over! My next set of poems will be mostly religious/spiritual because I am planning on uploading a bunch of the poems I wrote while on my mission. This poem is inspired by a couple of hard days on my mission where I felt like I just wanted to give up and go home. In those moments I would pray and those prayers would help me find the strength to continue onwards. It didn't always come in a moment, but comfort always came. I hope everyone has a chance to feel that same connectedness when they are feeling down and that this poem can help inspire you to pray! Love y'all!

Some days
Just are not your day
Some days
Do not go your way
Some days 
The whole world is against you
Some days 
Giving up is all you can do

An then you pray
And the Savior is there
You hear him say
I have heard your prayer

And everything
Will turn out all right
For every dark
There is a light
You cannot be lost
Where you cannot be found
I can pick you up
When you hit the ground
Do not worry now
I am by your side
And everything
Will turn out all right.

Some days
You have no power
Some days 
You live hour by hour
Some days
Seem to have no end
Some days
You cannot win

An then you pray
And the Savior is there
You hear him say
I have heard your prayer

And every moment
Passes by
Every heartache
And tear you cry
And I have felt the pain
You're feeling now
I've borne the chains 
That weigh you down
If you don't have strength
I'll give you mine
And every moment
Passes by

In every day
He is there
In every way
He shows His care
In every moment 
Turn to Him
Because
At every door
He lets us in

So when you pray
The Savior is there
He will always say
He hears your prayer

And 
Please don't doubt
Just turn to Him
Don't walk away
Just let Him in
He will always 
Be right here
Say a prayer
And He will hear
