Well, it's been four years since the breakout of Covid-19. I knew it was only a matter of time before it caught hold of me. My wife Pam and I have had it for a few days now, and luckily for us, I do believe the worst of feeling ill is past us. A few more days (hopefully) we should be up and out and running around the world again. Having two working sons living with us we have to try our best to quarantine ourselves around the house. So. that being said, we confined ourselves to a small room in the basement. Question- Do you have any idea how it is to be locked down in a fourteen by fourteen room with your wife for 4-5 days is? (lol) Well, not what you were expecting. We played scrabble, solitaire, yahtzee and monopoly for hours and hours...and hours...It's Great- I got to learn all her moves :)

I've been dealing with the fluvid, And boy, it's hit me hard I was out and about last week, When it caught me off my guard My eyes had veined a fire red, When it took me by surprise All I could do, is to be its slave, Until it's germ that's in me dies Three days thus far, my skins, like- prune I've been forced to hum the Fluvid's tune Wasted time can't run a faster soon For me to leave my dungeons' room My muse had turned a whiter white And so, my pen...began to write Fluvid boy, you best beware Your time will come, and this...I swear A few more days, 'bout all I'll take My hands and legs, will no more shake My ink will dry, and I'll right me better Just a few more days, till you (sign) this letter So, hope see you never, Oh Fluvid boy So sorry, if I sound...so coy But if you show your flu'ish face 'round me again You'd best beware- You s.o.b... I've got a pen

clever and witty, Charles. Sorry to hear that 'fluvid' found you and your wife. Sounds like you made the best of the situation, though. We had COVID early on--even before COVID was a 'thing.' I was the sickest I'd ever been for five days. Hubby, Bill, was down for the count for a month...hit his lungs pretty hard. All he did was sleep and barely eat...scary stuff. Glad all that's behind us. Get better, hugs, Sara

You and your wife making the best out of "fluvid" situation, Charlie! Any chance you played cribbage? I got COVID after performing at an international festival last year - 2022. Missed Thanksgiving and our granddaughter's sixteenth birthday. However, I did get to go on our annual Christmas tree hunt and have lunch with all of the family! Sending prayers for continued healing and hopes that your sons stay well and avoid that s.o.b.! Blessings my friend.

Hi Sam, we are trying to make the best, for sure. I never played cribbage, but I goggled it and it sounds like fun! It sucks when we have to miss out on family gatherings and holidays. When Covid first broke out I couldn't see my new born grandson for months...I thought those times were passed, thought wrong (lol). Thanks for the get-well wishes. Blessings and hugs...Charlie

Love your humor! You s.o.b…lol! And likewise “I’ve got a pen.” My husband and I caught it on our cruise…the ship or a tour, who knows…of course I did get some bandaid from the ship’s infirmary (was I in close quarters with the shedevil-covid?! This was in September 2022, I think. Put our suitcases down and did not wash clothes for about 3 days…so tired! Be well, dear poet! Send that s.o.b. Packing!!

I enjoyed reading your write. So sorry you are sick. Get Well Fast... When you said, "locked down in a fourteen by fourteen room." I thought maybe a prisoner of love. Guess not... Never know when or where writing will hit a person. Guess yours hit "locked down in a fourteen by fourteen room" called the basement. Have a blessed day writing away.........................

Dear Charles, Sorry about you and your wife getting COVID. Your "Fluvid" poem had me chuckling through every line! You've captured the absolute misery of the bug in such a hilariously relatable way. I love your defiant spirit, even through the sickness. The threat to ink the Fluvid with a sonnet had me grinning. Take care, and feel free to unleash any further poetic fury on the Fluvid should it dare to cross your path again. - Blessings, Daniel

All her moves? lol well, Charlie... Seriously sad you've both been infected, but good to learn you're also on the mend. 4 times that bugger has found me, none of them to the point of worry of anything more than a cold, except for one strain caught on a cruise. Write him out of your house.

Yep!...all her moves (lol). OMG dear lord- four times. Figures the worst came when you were on a cruise...seems it always happens that way. Happy to hear the rest were mild cases. I may have had it before but this is the first time I actually tested myself, the other times were mild as well. Thanks for the get well wishes, Lin. I appreciate your thoughts. Hugs Charlie
