I'Ve Been Saved { Seven By Seven }

staring out the windows bay
                                           in this wheelchair I now stay
                                            never listened to  Mom  Dad
                                            about dangers of a cave's fad
                                            lit a match thought I was brave
                                           hidden gasses now friend's in grave
                                            I give Thanks for I've been saved

We are thankful that you have been saved and the fact that you're still here with us. I like the rhyming couplets in this piece. We all have a story to tell. You have been blessed. Great job! ~ Joseph

Sad story well portrayed in this poem. Thank you for the warning about cave gasses. I didn't know about it. It's been raining a lot in West Fargo too. It's supposed to be nicer next week. I hope so. Back to your poem, you've made the most of this short format. You have a gift for short forms. Thank you for sharing your talent with us and for your kind words regarding my poem. Keep on writing! Very sad and scary story. Something I was not aware of. Yes, he or she must feel very lucky to be alive. Love, Shar

A very sad story and true in the comments. That's why miners always brought canaries with them, to test for gasses. Terrific form and perfect rhyme. MIchael

What a gift that the friend is still alive after all - there's so much o u t t h e r e but we just hang on in there until we move on to our next level. Thanks for your kind well wishes on me and my chemo. Yesterday was the pits (I think the after shots may be more painful than the treatment but it's just speculation) However I'm up and about today and grateful! That grattitude and inviting God into all conversations, allowing Him reign in all procedures is a key for me.
