It Won'T Be Long
There’s no love lost when you weren’t in it to begin with
Protect my soul and heal my heart
Give me the life that You designed for me
You took off those chains and now I am free
It was You who released me from that dark place
And it was only by Your amazing grace
That my eyes were open and I walked toward the light
Leaving behind all the lies, you restored my sight
Twisted in a web of deception, I could not even stand
Until You reached out and gave me your hand
You pulled out all that was wrong
And now my heart, so pure, sings Your song
The tears stream down my face
When will it stop
That quiet voice inside tells me Your love will lift me to the top
It is only my faith that has pulled me through
When I feel so empty and feel so blue
The shadows are fading into the light
Bring me what is good and what is right
Help me to believe in love so pure
Give me the strength that I need to endure
A season in my life that I want to come to an end
I long for a lover, and a friend
Help me to believe that is Your plan for me
Send me a kindred spirit to have and to hold
Someone in Your image so gentle, yet so bold
I believe that day will come when I am singing a happy song
I believe that day is coming - I know it won’t be long
