It Should Have Been Me
"It Should Have Been Me"
James Williams
Peter: How could I let this ever be
To deny you at your feet
and then turn around and walk away
When I was the one
Who stood on your name
And When I was asked, " do I know you?"
Three times I denied you the same
It should have been me
On that day
taken away with thee Lord
It should have been me
It should have been me
On that cross
Dying for the cost
I know Lord It should have been me.
Judas: Lord I betrayed thee
at the drop of a dime
I placed a kiss on your face
With deception in my mind
Lord Why did I betray you
For 30 pieces of silver
And to know that you still love me
My life I don't deserve
It should have been me
On that day
taken away with thee Lord
It should have been me
It should have been me
On that cross
Dying for the cost
I know Lord It should have been me.
ME: Father please forgive my sins
For the pain has set in
You have shown your love to me
Over and over again
I don't deserve your mercy
I don't deserve your grace
I don't deserve the sacrifice that you made
It should have been me
On that day
taken away with thee Lord
It should have been me
It should have been me
On that cross
Dying for the cost
I know Lord It should have been me.
It was you who and died on Calvary
to save and set my spirit free
Upon that cross you hung for me
And Lord
It should have been me.
