It May Be True

From an image,
one can create...
beyond the shadows...
of a dismal view.

Taking it's appearance
in a lonely lie...
hidden, deep,
within the mind.

What may have led you
to believe...
you would not become...
what you thought about,
or even dreamed of...
in your young life?

What would hold you
in that place?
You wouldn't dare
to venture out...

As a wounded bird,
inside your shell...
until you screamed
out loud...

just enough to be heard,
inside yourself.
You took a breath...
then saw a picture
in your mind.

You held it there,
to get another view...
then, take a chance,
perhaps.

To unwind your clock,
in time...
you would say...
I see it...
therefore, I have it!

If only to believe,
it may be true.
