It Matters No More
I wish that I were numb,
so I couldn’t feel.
This pain in my heart,
That’s oh, so real.
I’m feeling so confused,
but where do I start.
It’s like someone plunged a knife,
deep into my heart.
This has been a bad day,
so filled with pain.
Now the teardrop’s are falling,
just like the rain.
He broke down my defenses,
so I let him in.
Knowing that I would lose,
but hoping to win.
There is no anger,
because it’s plain to see.
He is better off,
without me.
My heart is failing,
I did not lie.
It’s too much for him,
to watch me die.
Pain and misery,
my life has been full of.
For a brief moment,
I flew like a dove.
The fear of dying alone,
he took away.
Only to give it back,
another day.
The happiness and joy,
he gave to me.
It’s worth all the pain,
and the misery.
I wish I could be angry,
but I’m not.
Because I really love him,
with all I’ve got.
Because I really love him,
with all I’ve got.
He came into my life,
when I needed a friend.
I’ll love him right up,
until the end.
If he changes his mind,
I’ll be right here.
Because he is the one,
that I hold dear.
I don’t care about life,
like I did before.
If I die today,
“it matter’s no more”!
